Foundation
The floor and foundation on which the units are to be located shall be rigid and level to avoid vibration and
assure proper venting and draining. The structure shall be capable of supporting the weight of the unit,
including the fan motor and the water or refrigerant within the coils.
Pitch the piping toward an open drain and install a plug to facilitate cleaning. Install a cap on the drain
connection not used. Trap the drain line as shown in Figure 2. ‘H’ dimension to be minimum of 1/2” plus total
static pressure. A minimum length of foundation on which the units are to be located must be provided to
assure installing the trap and drain plug.

Unit Installation
Installation and maintenance should be performed by qualified persons who are familiar with local code and
regulation, and experienced with this type of appliance.
1) Prior to installation, clean the inside of the units. (Caution: Sharp edges and coil surfaces are
potential locations, which may cause injury hazards. Avoid from being in contact with these places)
2) Prior to installation, check the ease of operation of the moving components and the regulation
equipment by hand.
3) Allow sufficient space around the unit for opening the access door, adjusting belt tension, and
removing filters, motor and drive package. A minimum clearance equal to the width of the unit must
be provided on one side of the unit for removing the coil, shaft, and wheel.
4) The ductwork can not be supported by the unit only, it must be supported by other hangers or
stands.
5) Ductwork, which is connected to the fan discharge should run in a straight line for at least 1-1/2 fan
diameters and should not be reduced in cross sectional area.
6) The gasket material with a pressure sensitive adhesive should be attached to the mating flanges
before the bolts are placed in the flanges to secure the matching unit sections, in order to avoid air
leakage or cold bridge.
7) Check the cleanliness of the filter before installation.
8) Install the filter after the installation of all other components.
