PRESSURE RELEASE
• Grains like wheat berries should be soaked in four times their volume for at least 4 hours,
preferably overnight, before being cooked.
• Do not soak rice before cooking.
• For optimal results, do not add salt to the water.
• When used in soups and casseroles, rices and grains are best undercooked.
• Use oil or butter to prevent foaming.
• Pearl barley, oatmeal and other cereals that can foam, froth or sputter can clog the
pressure release valve and should not be cooked in the pressure cooker.
• The measurements listed below are referencing the included rice measuring cup.
• When measuring white rice, use only the included measuring cup, do not use a standard
measuring cup.
• Use the measuring cup and the pots markings for perfect rice every time.
• The water to rice ratio for perfect rice is 1 to 1 : 1 cup of water per 1 cup of rice.
• The maximum amount of rice that can be cooked in the pressure cooker is 12 cups.
• Whenever cooking 2 cups or less of uncooked rice, use 1 tablespoon of butter or oil. Use
2 tablespoons of butter or oil when cooking more than 2 cups of uncooked rice. This will
prevent foaming during the cooking process.
• For optimal results, we recommend rinsing the uncooked rice until the water becomes
clear prior to cooking.
