NOTE: Ignore this section if the machine does not have a container for softener.
REFILLING DISHWASHER SALT/SOFTENER
Use salt intended for dishwashers.
The salt container is placed under the basket and is filled as follows:
NOTE:
Use salt intended for use in dishwashers. Other types of salt, in particular table salt, do not have a
softening effect. The warrantly will not be valid in the event of any damage resulting from the use of
the wrong salt.
Fill with salt just before starting a wash programme. This prevents grains of salt or salty water lying
on the bottom of the dishwasher for a prolonged period, which can cause corrosion.
Do not fill the salt container with dishwasher detergent. Dishwasher detergent destroys the
softener.
1. Lift out the basket and unscrew the
cap on the salt container.
2. Before the first wash, pour 1 litre of
water into the salt container.
3. Place the supplied funnel in the hole
and pour in about 1 kg of salt.
It is normal for a small amount of
water to leak out from the salt
container.
4. When the container is full, screw the cap firmly back on.
5. The warning light for salt usually goes off 2–6 days after the salt container has been filled up.
6. Start a wash programme immediately after filling with salt (quick programme recommended).
Otherwise the filter unit, pump or other important parts in the dishwasher can be damaged by the
salty water. This will invalidate the warranty.
