Periodic Phone Line Check
The MEP2L is able to detect whether the telephone line is faulty or unavailable. This check is
carried out automatically on a regular basis, at time intervals set by parameter 49. The default
value of parameter 49 is 10 minutes. When this situation is detected, you will hear a locution
in the car that says "Telephone line failure, contact the administrator". In addition, it is
possible to perform the check by command from the keyboard.
Reset to default settings (with password)
This command allows you to reset all parameters to their factory settings, except the
password, which is required to execute the command. See table attached for default values. In
case you do not know the password, please contact MERAK TELSIS, SL.
Low battery and power failure events
The MEP2L incorporates an internal lithium polymer (Li-Po) battery of 3.7 V 700 mA that
provides up to 10 hours of standby time. The MEP2L continuously monitors the battery charge
level and whether there is a supply voltage at connector J1. In the event of a power failure or if
the battery charge level falls below a certain threshold, the MEP2L communicates both events
to the event phone for this purpose (log 08). The default protocol for communicating these
events is P100. To have event calls it is necessary to program an event phone, communication
protocol and enable battery and power monitoring.
