removal and refitting
Removal
and
replacement procedure for tubeless tyres is similar to
that
used
for tyres with inner tubes.
Remove the valve interior to deflate the tyre completely and push
both
cover
edges into the base of the rim at the point diametrically opposite to the valve,
then lever the cover edge near the valve over the rim edge. Continue round
the tyre until the bead on one side is completely free. Stand the tyre

upright, keeping the remaining bead in the weli-i se of the wheel rim. Lever
the tyre bead at the top of the wheel over the rim ange, and at the same time
push the wheel away from the cover 'with the
ou.er hand.
A similar technique has to be employed when replacing the tyre, keeping the
beaded edge in the well-base of the wheel rim
and
carefully levering the tyre
edge over the wheel rim on the opposite side.
Great
care must be'exercised to
avoid damage to the tyre bead and the tyre levers used must be in good condition.
Initial inflation can be carried out with a foot
pump
~
using a rope tourniquet
around the periphery of the tyre to obtain a seal between the tyre edge and the
wheel rim, but it is more easily accomplished with a compressed-air line.
