FIGURE A–11. Diffused On-Axis Lighting
CDI
Ideal for very uneven specular surfaces. Continuous Diffuse Illumination
(CDI), also known as Cloudy Day Illumination, provides a hemisphere of
diffuse, uniform illumination. The complete lighting envelope has even
lighting from all directions. The use of a curved beam splitter completes
the horizon-to-horizon illumination. On-axis and off-axis lighting is
controlled separately to ensure that uniformity remains in balance. Refer
to Figure A–12.
