connected. Check that the battery charger is disconnected.
5.6.1 Solo Controllers
If the charger is disconnected, then the voltage at the Solo’s inhibit input, P2-6,
should be checked. Depending on whether the controller is programmed to active
low or active high inhibit (see chapter 1, section 5.7), then on a correctly functioning
system the voltage at P2-6 should be as below. If the voltages are incorrect then
check the wiring to charger socket or other inhibit source.
Active low inhibit: P2-6 to Battery -ve : 0V ± 0.5V to inhibit
5V ± 0.5V to drive
Active high inhibit: P2-6 to Battery -ve : 0V ± 0.5V to drive
5V ± 0.5V to inhibit
If the voltages are correct and the trip is still present, then the controller may be
defective. Refer to section 7.
5.6.2 Egis Controllers
If the charger is disconnected, then the voltage at the Egis inhibit input should be
checked. Depending on how the Egis is programmed via the Inhibit Mode parameter
(see chapter 1, section 5.8), then on a correctly functioning system, the conditions in
the table below should apply.
5.7 Trip Type 7 - Throttle Trip
This occurs if the controller detects a trip in the throttle potentiometer or the connections
to it.
This occurs if the controller detects a problem in the throttle potentiometer or the
connections to it. In Egis controllers, specific trip codes relate to different scenarios
and these are detailed below.
Trip Code 0814: Throttle High Reference (Egis pin 12) Disconnected.
Trip Code 0815: Throttle Low Reference (Egis pin 5) Disconnected or Short Circuit
between Throttle High and Low References (Egis Pins 12 & 5) or
Throttle Potentiometer is Incorrect Value.
Trip Code 0816: Short Circuit between Throttle Wiper and Throttle High Reference
(Egis Pins 7 & 12)
