2.2.5 ADJUSTING VALVE CLEARANCE
When the timing system is noisy, check the clearance
between valves and rocker arms.
NOTE Adjust clearance when the engine is cold, with the
piston at top dead centre (TDC) during the compression
stroke (valves closed).
• Loosen and remove the three screws and remove the
side protection.
• Working on either side, loosen and remove the two
outer screws and remove the spark plug protection.
• Working on either side, loosen and remove the two
inner screws and remove the insert.
• Disconnect both spark plug caps.
