4. Choose one of the following options:
If... Then...
If this is a dual
Solar Panel de-
ployment,
connect the Y-cables:
a. Obtain the two Y-cables from the Expansion Solar Panel Kit.
b. Connect the single-plug end of each Y-cable with each of the power ca-
bles coming from the Solar Panel Battery.
c. Connect one plug from the double-plug end of each Y-cable to the Solar
Panel power cables.
NOTE: Do not connect the second plug on each Y-cable to the
Expansion Solar Panel power cables until after both Solar Panels
have been mounted.
If this is a single
Solar Panel de-
ployment,
connect the power cables:
a. Connect the Solar Panel power cables to the Solar Panel Battery power
cables.
b. Perform cable management as necessary.
NOTE: The power cable connectors are mated such that they can only connect to the correctly
polarized plugs.
3.3.2
Mounting the Solar Panel
Solar panels should be positioned above the camera, 12–14 feet from the ground, and facing a southerly
direction. Use the Shoulder Strap to keep hands free when ascending a ladder.
Prerequisites: Solar Panel assembly is complete.
If mounting on a pole, obtain:
Solar Panel Mounting Bracket
Metal Band Straps (2x)
Hex Bolts (2x)
Hex Key Tool
Wire Snips
Zip-Tie (1x)
If mounting on a flat surface, obtain:
Solar Panel Mounting Bracket
Lag Bolts (2x)
Power Drill
