What to do if Motorola Measuring Instruments has no horizontal sweep?
    • C
      Chris CastanedaSep 4, 2025
If your Motorola Measuring Instruments shows no horizontal sweep, check for a voltage level between -2.0 VDC and +2.0 VDC at TP4 of the Scope Amplifier module (A2). If the voltage cannot be brought within range with either the vertical range attenuator or the vertical position control, replace the Front Panel Interface module (A12). If the voltage at TP4 is okay, replace the Scope Amplifier module (A2).

What to do if Motorola Measuring Instruments monitor frequency error is in error?
    • B
      Brian SotoSep 18, 2025
If the monitor frequency error on your Motorola Measuring Instruments is incorrect, check for the presence of an IF signal at pin 91 of the Scope/DVM Control module (A3). If it's not present, replace the Receiver module (A4). If the IF signal is present, replace the Scope/DVM Control module.

How to fix no Frequency Modulation on Motorola R-2001A?
    • N
      Nathan YoungSep 9, 2025
To resolve the absence of frequency modulation on your Motorola Measuring Instruments, check for a modulation signal at pin 56 of the RF Synthesizer (A5). If the signal is okay, replace the RF Synthesizer.

What to do if Motorola R-2001A has no generated output?
    • R
      Rhonda LawrenceSep 7, 2025
If your Motorola Measuring Instruments is producing no output, remove the RF cable between the RF Synthesizer (A5) and the RF Input module (A11). Check for a nominal -10 dBm level at the Synthesizer output. If there's no output, replace the RF Synthesizer. If the Synthesizer output is okay, replace the RF Input module.

How to troubleshoot Motorola R-2001A Measuring Instruments SINAD meter when it is inoperative?
    • J
      jasonforbesSep 6, 2025
To troubleshoot an inoperative SINAD meter on your Motorola Measuring Instruments, first verify that the DVM mode is functioning correctly. If the DVM mode checks okay, replace the Scope/DVM Control module (A3).

What to do if Motorola R-2001A frequency counter is inoperative?
    • N
      nandersonAug 21, 2025
If the frequency counter on your Motorola Measuring Instruments isn't working, begin by checking for a 1 kHz signal at TP9 of the Audio Synthesizer (A6). If it's absent, verify the 10 MHz signal from the Frequency Standard module (A13) to the RF Synthesizer (A5). If the 10 MHz signal is present, replace the RF Synthesizer. Otherwise, replace the Frequency Standard module. If the 1 kHz signal is present, check for the signal to be counted at pins 61 and 63 of the Processor I/O module (A7). If it's missing, replace the Front Panel Interface Module (A12). If the signal is good up to the Processor I/O module, replace that module.
