22 - Getting Started
A number of messages will then be displayed:

- a request to enter the SIM card PIN code (if
required).

- a request to enter the phone unlock code
(if required).

followed by a network name - as the phone
searches and then finds a suitable network to connect to.
Once switched on and connected, the phone stays in idle mode.
Making and Receiving Phone Calls
This section summarises the most basic calling features. For more
features, see page 45.
Making a Call
To call a number, your phone must:
be turned on and unlocked
have a SIM card inserted and unlocked
have a network connection with adequate signal strength
Note: You can make an emergency call even when the phone is
locked, or when a SIM card is not inserted. See page 47.
Do This
1 Enter the number with the keypad keys (up to 40 digits).
Note: If you make a mistake, press

(
-
) to delete the last digit, or press and hold

(
-
) to clear all digits.
2 Press
N
(send key) to make the call.
3 Press
O
(end key) or close flip when the call is done.
