Choosing a Text Mode
To activate a text mode, press
M

from any text entry
screen and select the text mode:
Note: The text mode you select remains active until you change it
by selecting another mode.
Using Tap Method
Tap method is the default standard mode for entering text on your
phone.
To activate tap method from any text entry screen, press
M
and
select the

menu option.
To enter text using the tap method:
Let the phone predict each word as you
enter it, then choose the word from a list
(see page 35).

Enter characters one at a time by pressing
the key for the letter, number, or symbol
(see below). This is the standard mode for
entering text on your phone.

Enter numbers only.
#$%
Enter symbols only (see page 34).
Browse through your phonebook and
recent calls lists to select a name or
number to enter.
Do This To

key one or more
times
cycle through the characters
associated with the key and
select the character you want
(see page 34).
