Reverse Caution Mode

module)
_ ARNING:Useextreme caution while
operating the tractor in the REVERSE
CAUTIONMODE.Always look down and
behind before and whilebacking. Do
not operatethe tractor whenchildren
or others arearound. Stopthe tractor
immediately if someone enters the area.
TheREVERSECAUTIONMODEpositionofthekey
switchmoduleallowsthetractortobe operatedin
reversewiththe blades(PTO)engaged.
iMPORTANT:Mowingin reverseis notrecommended.
Touse the REVERSECAUTIONMODE:
iMPORTANT:TheoperatorMUSTbeseatedinthe
tractorseat.
1. Starttheengineasinstructedon page16under
Starting TheEngine.
2. Turnthe keyfromthe NORMALMOWING(Green)
positiontotheREVERSECAUTIONMODE(Yellow)
positionofthekeyswitchmodule. SeeFig.4-5.
3. Depressthe REVERSEPUSHBUTTON(Orange,
TriangularButton)atthetop,rightcornerof the key
switchmodule.Thered indicatorlightat thetop, left
cornerof the keyswitchmodulewillbeONwhile
activated.SeeFig.4-5.
4. Onceactivated(indicatorlightON), thetractorcan
bedrivenin reversewiththe cuttingblades(PTO)
engaged.
5. Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeandwhile
backingtomakesurenochildrenarearound.
6. Afterresumingforwardmotion,returnthekeytothe
NORMALMOWINGposition.
iMPORTANT:TheREVERSECAUTIONMODEwill
remainactivateduntil:
a.The keyisplacedin eitherthe NORMALMOWING
positionorSTOPposition.
b.Theoperatorengagesthe parkingbrakebyfully
depressingtheclutch-brakepedaland holdingit
downwhilemovingthespeedcontrolleverintothe
PARKBRAKEposition.
Engaging the Parking Brake
Toengagethe parkingbrake:
1. Fullydepressthe clutch-brakepedalandholdit down
withyourfoot.
2. Movethe speedcontrolleverallthewaydownand
intothe parkingbrakeposition.
3. Releasethe clutch-brakepedalto allowthe parking
braketo engage.

Toreleasetheparkingbrake:
1. Depressthe clutch-brakepedalandmovethespeed
controlleverout of the parkingbrakepositionand into
a desiredspeed.
Setting the Cutting Height
1. Selectthe heightpositionof the cuttingdeckby plac-
ing thedeck liftleverinanyofthesixdifferentcutting
heightnotcheson the rightsideofthe fender.
2. Adjustthe deckwheels,if equipped,so thattheyare
betweenl_-inchandY2-inchabovethegroundwhen
thetractoris ona smooth,flatsurfacesuchas a
driveway.

NOTE:On modelssoequipped,the deckwheelsarean
anti-scalpfeatureofthedeckandarenotdesignedto
supporttheweightofthecuttingdeck.
