Parking Brake Adjustment
,_ WARNING:Neverattempt to adjust the
brakes while the engine is running. Always
disengage PTO,move shift leverinto
neutral position, stop engine and remove
key to prevent unintendedstarting.
If the tractordoesnotcometoa completestopwhenthe
brakepedaliscompletelydepressed,or if the tractor's
rearwheelscanrollwiththeparkingbrakeapplied,the
brakeis inneedofadjustment.SeeanauthorizedMTD
ServiceDealerto haveyourbrakesproperlyadjusted.
Seat Adjustment
NOTE:For shippingreasons,seatsareeitherfastened
tothetractorseat'spivotbracketwitha plastictie,or
mountedbackwardto the pivotbracket.In eithercase,
freetheseatformits shippingpositionandremovethe
two hexscrews(or knobs,on modelsso equipped)from
thebottomof seatbeforeproceedingwithapplicable
instructions.
,j_ WARNING:Before operating this machine,
make sure the seat is engaged in the seat
stop, stand behind the machine and pull
back on seat until fully engagedinto stop.
Standard Seat
Toadjustthepositionoftheseat,loosenthe two hex
screwson the bottomof the seat.Slidethe seatforward
or backwardas desired.Retightenthe twoscrews.See
Fig.5-3.
Knob Adjustment Seat (if so equipped)
Toadjustthepositionoftheseaton modelsso equipped,
loosenthe twoknobsonthe bottomof the seat. See
Fig.5-4.Slidethe seatforwardor backwardas desired.
Retightenthe twoknobs.
Quick Adjust Seat (if so equipped)
Toadjustthepositionoftheseaton modelsequipped
witha seatadjustmentlever,movetheseatadjustment
lever(locatedundertheseat)totheleftand slidethe
seatforwardor rearward.SeeFig.5-5. Makesureseatis
lockedintopositionbeforeoperatingthe tractor.
