Checkengineoil levelbeforeeachuseas instructed
in the EngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwith your
unit.Fellow the instructionscarefully.
Changing Engine Oil
Fordrainingoil fromtheengine'scrankcaseof select
modeltractors,a plasticoildrainsleeveispackedwith
thisOperator'sManual.Todrainthe oil, proceedas
follows:
1. Unscrewtheoilfill capand removethe dipstickfrom
theoilfilltube.
2. Snapthe smallendof oildrainsleeveontothe oil
sump.SeeFig.6-1.
3. Removedrainpluganddrainoil intoa suitable
containerwitha capacityofno lessthan 64oz.
4. Servicethe oilfilter (if so equipped)as instructedinthe
separateEngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwith
yourunit.
Performtheabovestepsin theoppositeorderafteroil has
finisheddraining.
5. Refillthe enginewith newmotoroilas instructedinthe
EngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwithyourunit.
IMPORTANT:Referto the EngineOperator/Owner
Manualpackedwithyourunitforinformationregardingthe
quantityand properweightof motoroil.
Air Cleaner
Servicethepre-cleaner,ifsoequipped,andcartridge/air
cleanerelementasinstructedin the EngineOperator/
OwnerManualpackedwithyourunit.
Spark Plug(s)
Thesparkplug(s)shouldbecleanedandthe gapreset
oncea season.Sparkplugreplacementis recommended
atthestartof each mowingseason.RefertotheEngine
Operator/OwnerManualfor correctplugtypeandgap
specifications.
Lubrication

Engine
Lubricatetheenginewithmotoroil as instructedinthe
EngineOwnerManualpackedwithyourunit.
Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateall the pivotpointson thedrivesystem,parking
brakeandlift linkageat leastoncea seasonwithlightoil.
Rear Wheels
Therearwheelsshouldbe removedfromthe axlesonce
a season.Lubricatethe axlesandthe rimswellwithan
all-purposegreasebeforere-installingthem.
Front Axles
Eachendofthetractor'sfrontpivotbarmaybeequipped
witha greasefitting.Lubricatewitha greasegun after
every25 hoursoftractoroperation.
