androtatethebladenearestthe dischargechuteso
thatit isparallelwiththe tractor.
2. Measurethe distancefromthefrontof thebladetip to
thegroundandthe rearof the bladetip to the ground.
Thefirst measurementtakenshouldbebetween
1/4"and3/8" lessthanthesecondmeasurement.
Determinetheapproximatedistancenecessaryfor
properadjustmentandproceed,if necessary,to the
nextstep.
3. Locatethejam nutandlocknut onthefrontsideof the
stabilizerbracket.SeeFig.5-1.Afterlooseningthe jam
nut:
Tightenthelocknutto raisethefrontofthedeck;
Loosenthe locknut to lowerthefrontofthedeck.
4. Retightenthe jam nut loosenedearlierwhenproper
adjustmentisachieved.
Side to Side
If thecuttingdeckappearstobemowingunevenly,aside
tosideadjustmentcan beperformed.Adjustif necessary
asfollows:
1. Withthetractorparkedona firm,levelsurface,place
thedeckliftleverin the top notch(highestposition)
androtatebothbladesso thattheyare perpendicular
withthetractor.
2. Measurethe distancefromtheoutsideoftheleftblade
tiptothegroundandthe distancefromtheoutsideof
therightbladetipto the ground.Bothmeasurements
takenshouldbeequal.If they'renot,proceedto the
nextstep.
3. Loosen,butdo NOTremove,thehexcap screwon
theleftdeckhangerbracket.SeeFig.5-2.
4. Balancethe deckbyusingawrenchto turnthe
adjustmentgear(foundimmediatelybehindthehex
capscrewjust loosened)clockwise/uporcounter-
clockwise/down.Thedeckis properlybalancedwhen
bothbladetipmeasurementstakenearlierareequal.
5. Retightenthe hex capscrewon the leftdeckhanger
bracketwhenproperadjustmentis achieved.
Leveling the Deck
NOTE:Checkthe tractor'stirepressurebeforeperform-
inganydecklevelingadjustments.Referto Tires on
page24 for informationregardingtire pressure.
Front To Rear
Thefrontofthecuttingdeckissupportedbya stabilizer
barthatcan adjustedto levelthedeckfromfronttorear.
Thefrontofthedeckshouldbebetween1/4-inchand
3/8-inchlowerthanthe rearof thedeck. Adjustif
necessaryasfollows:
