Functional description for control unit ED520
allowed. In this case the input EXTRA [ S13 ] is to be connected to the outside UP function.
6 ED520 Setting of comfort functions
Setting of the functions in the control unit is divided into setting of comfort functions and setting of safety
functions. In this way it is guaranteed that the safety functions of the control unit are not changed unintended.
Setting of safety functions are only possible with the programming key placed in connector CON3.
The comfort functions of the control unit are set by means of the two push buttons SW1 and SW2 on the
function board ED520, and the selected function is indicated on the display DP1 and also on the LED’s LD1
and LD2.
To gain access to the setting functions e-stop is to be activated, simultaneously with activation of the buttons
SW1 and SW2 for 5 seconds. The display will now flash to indicate that setting of comfort functions has been
selected, and afterwards the display will indicate the function about to be set according to the table below.
With SW1 the function number is selected. This is indicated on the display and the LED’s LD1 and LD2 show
the present settings. Each time the SW1 is pressed the function number is increased by 1. Setting of the
required function can be changed by pressing SW2. To save the selected adjustment SW2 has to be activated
for 3 seconds, after which the display briefly will show "S=" to confirm the saving the setting.
When the controller is in setting of functions mode, the door cannot be operated. The only exception is if a run-
in is mated, then the control unit is functional in hold to run mode.
The setting of functions is automatically terminated after 30 seconds without activation of SW1 or SW2 or
when turning off the control unit.
