Commissioning
NOTE: The following procedures require the use of the transmitter’s advanced user interface (AUI). If
you require assistance to navigate the AUI, refer to the VX Operations & Maintenance Manual for more
information.
Turning on the Transmitter
1. Switch on the ac power at the service entrance to turn on the transmitter. Confirm the ac voltage,
noting the CSA label on the back of the transmitter.
2. Check the alarm and status indications on the AUI (Transmitter Status page). See the
VX
Operating and Maintenance Manual
.
3. Select
Local control.
4. Using the AUI, select a preset and set to minimum RF output power.
5. Press RF On. The RF On button will turn green.
6. Increase the power to normal operating levels while monitoring the Transmitter Status page for
alarms.
7. Set up or select the desired operating preset. See the
VX Operating and Maintenance Manual
.
8. Set the correct time and date on the AUI display. See the
VX Operating and Maintenance Manual
.
To improve overall system security, change the login password for the AUI display. Nautel factory sets
the AUI with a default login password. See the
“Editing Account Information”
section of the
VX
Operating and Maintenance Manual
.
