- To increase the tension, turn the dial to the
next number up. To reduce the tension,
turn the dial to the next number down.
- Proper setting of tension is important to
good sewing.
- There is no single tension setting
appropriate for all the stitch functions and
fabrics.
Lower looper thread is too loose
The lower looper thread is unbalanced when
it is pulled to the right side of the fabric.
Tighten the thread tension of the lower looper
or loosen the thread tension of the upper
looper.
Upper looper thread is too tight
The upper looper thread is unbalanced when
it is pulling on the top side of the fabric.
Loosen the thread tension of the upper looper
or tighten the thread tension of the lower
looper.
Upper looper thread is too loose
The upper looper thread is unbalanced when
it is pulled to the wrong side of the fabric.
Tighten the thread tension of the upper looper
or loosen the thread tension of the lower
looper.
Correct thread tension
Lower looper thread and upper looper thread
should be well balanced with the same
tension(bothlooperthreadsshouldcross
at the edge of the fabrics). Needle threads
should not be too loose or too tight, but
equally balanced tension.
