3.8 Frequency converter
WARNING! Risk of electric shock.
The frequency converter is not to be opened unl 5 minutes aer the supply voltage has
been disconnected. The capacitors inside the converter hold a very dangerous voltage unl
they have discharged themselves.
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage.
• Do not adjust any parameters in the frequency converter without wrien authorisaon
from the person responsible for this product. See the Declaraon of Conformity. Any
unauthorised adjustment may void the warranty.
• The unit is not to be started if the cooling hose has been removed.
NOTE! Figure 4 shows the cooling air hose that improves the cooling of the frequency
converter.
NOTE! For parameter sengs in the frequency converter, see the ‘FlexPAK Frequency
Converter Parameter Table’ that is a separate document included with the unit.
The frequency converter controls the unit’s motor so that it operates eciently, as well
as maintaining the unit’s vacuum level to help prevent a dangerous underpressure from
developing. The manual for the frequency converter is enclosed.
4 Accessories
The FlexPAK 800/1000 start and control unit is prepared for the connecon of Nederman
accessories and customer connecons.
The installaon of accessories, extra equipment, and funcons is described in the manual
for each product and according to the electrical diagrams that came with the unit. Consult
your local Nederman representave for available accessories.
The most common accessory is a PS cable, which allows remote start/stop signalling from
the valves on the duct system. See also Chapter ‘6 PLC messages’ and Chapter ‘7 PLC
sengs’ for more informaon about messages and sengs for accessories, and customer
connecons.
5 Use
WARNING! Explosion risk.
• Do not collect material that may cause ignion or blocking. It is strictly prohibited to
collect material that may undergo dangerous chemical or thermal reacons and/or self-
ignite.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock.
• Personnel operang FlexPAK 800/1000 are to pay special aenon to avoiding discharge
of stac electricity. The requirements for the safe use and handling of combusble dust
are described in the explosion protecon document. All personnel are to be informed.
