Figure 17, items A–C, shows how the rubber sealing rings are to be ed. When a used
sealing ring is to be re-used, the form when open may dier from the original form as
shown in item A. Use a screwdriver to bring the edge of the module between the rubber
lips to obtain the result shown in item C.
6.4 Check the lter cleaning funcon
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Crush hazard. Pay aenon when the compressed air pressure cylinder and valve disc
move. Make sure that the protecon hood over the lter cleaning unit is ed aer the
check.
Check the automac lter cleaning as follows:
1. Check the automac cleaning equipment once a year.
2. Remove the top cover from the lter and inspect the valve disc.
3. Start the unit and press the lter cleaning buon, see gure 8. The compressed air
cylinder should li the valve disc. A loud noise can be heard as air rushes into the
lter bin to blow o dust from the outside of the lter package. This will be repeated
3 mes for each lter cleaning cycle.
4. Stop the vacuum unit and shut o the air supply.
5. Check the valve disc fastening, damage and wear. Replace if required.
6. Replace the protecng top cover.
6.5 The motor and the fan unit
Inspect and clean the motor compartment regularly.
The motor has 2 ball bearings. The bearings are to be replaced aer approximately
15,000 hours of operaon. If the ambient temperature oen reaches 35°C (95°F), the me
between replacements is to be reduced. In any case, the bearings are to be replaced every
h year.
The bearings are a standard type. Contact Nederman or an authorized Nederman
distributor for replacement of the bearings.
Old grease is to be removed and new grease used. The grease is to meet the DIN 51825-
K2N 40, SKF LGHP 2 or FAG Arcanol Multop standards.
6.6 Cooling lter for the frequency converter
The service life of the cooling lter for the frequency converter depends on the air-bound
dust surrounding the vacuum unit. The expected service life is 6–48 months. Check the
lter regularly through the lter holder grid. If the lter is clogged, the frequency converter
will shut o due to overheang. When changing the lter, see the label placed over the
lter intake.
