5.3 Machine modes
5.3.1 Machine modes of Citiz coffee machines
This table helps to understand the operating modes of a Citiz coffee machine:

1 Heat up mode
Every time after start

2 Self test mode

Tests:
• NTC short circuit

3 Ready mode
• After heat up and self
test mode was ok
• After brewing or
volume brewing

• After reset mode
• After leaving
descaling mode
Keeps thermoblock
temperature at 90 °C

5 Descaling mode
• Start machine, wait

pump was started)
• Stop and start pump
with any coffee
button, no volume
brewing in descaling
mode
• Press and hold both
coffee buttons for at
least 3 s
Note:
When machine is
switched off during any
descaling mode, then it
goes to descaling
mode ready state after
next start.
