VLAN use case 1: Orbi Pro WiFi 6 router in
a home environment
This use case describes how to configure the VLANs on an Orbi Pro WiFi 6 router and
satellite in a home environment. Almost all settings that you need for this configuration
are already preset on the Orbi Pro WiFi 6 router and satellite. The satellite is connected
to the router over a WiFi backhaul.

The procedure in this section does the following:
•
Uses the LAN 1, preset Default VLAN 1, Wireless 1 WLAN, and the satellite’s LAN 1
port for the Admin network.
•
Sets the LAN 4, preset Guest VLAN 40, Guest Portal WLAN, and the satellite’s LAN 2
port for the Guest network.
•
Sets the port mode for the following LAN ports to Access mode:

Satellite’s LAN port 1. This port is cabled to a desktop that is used for admin
tasks such accessing the router web interface.
- Satellite’s LAN port 2. This port is cabled to a desktop that is available to guests.
