Troubleshooting
If you use a USB hub to connect different USB hard drives simultaneously, the power on
the USB port of Music Extender might not be sufficient to power all the USB devices. You
might need to power some hard disks with an external power supply.
ReadyShare Printer
ReadySHARE Printer lets you place your USB printer anywhere in your house. When you
connect the USB printer to the Music Extender USB port, the printer is shared among all
computers on the home network.
Set Up ReadySHARE Printer
You can have multiple USB printers or scanners working simultaneously if each one is
connected to a Music Extender.
To set up ReadySHARE Printer:
1. Connect the USB printe
r, scanner, or fax machine to the USB port on the Music
Extender.
2. Inst
all the USB printer driver software on each computer that will share the printer. If you do
not have the printer driver, contact the printer manufacturer to find and download the most
recent printer driver software.
3. Inst
all the NETGEAR USB Media Extender utility on each computer that will share the
printer. (See Install the NETGEAR USB Media Extender Utility on p
age 15.)

ou must install this utility before you can use the ReadySHARE Printer feature.
• Fo
r the ReadySHARE Printer feature to work, this utility must be run in the
background.
