Using the Tone Function
A cable can also be traced using a Fluke Networks*
IntelliTone™ Probe, or any analog probe, and the
Tone function.
Connect a cable into the
top RJ-45 port, touch the
FAB, and select the
appropriate Tone option
for your probe. The
LinkRunner G2 emits the
tone through the cable,
and the probe detects it,
allowing you to trace the
wire or locate it in the switch closet.
