Monitoring and Verifying Bridging
After you have set up the router for bridging, you can monitor and verify its operation
by performing the following commands.
Use the following command to view the bridged interfaces.
COMMAND (conf)# show bridge
Use the following command to lists the contents of the bridge table. Each MAC address
in the table is listed with its corresponding bridge port as learned by the bridge function.
COMMAND (conf)# show bridge map
As to forward bridged packets to the right network destination, the NBG440 router uses
a bridge table that associates end nodes with particular connections. It builds this table
dynamically, in a process called transparent bridging.
Viewing Operation Mode of the Interface
To verify the mode of the interface, use the following command.
COMMAND (conf)# show interface [-v|-c] [<ifname>]
Parameters
-v option provides various visual statistics regarding the interface.
-c option initializes the statistics.
<ifname> - interface name
Note: If you omit the interface name, all interfaces are listed.
Usage Examples:
(conf)# show interface
(conf)# sh int lan
(conf)# sh int s0
