Configuring Multiplexed Link
NBG440 that has more than one SHDSL port offer the functionality of Link-Multiplexing so it
enables to increase the bandwidth.
MXL(Multiplexed Link) interface
Before using link-multiplexing feature, you should create a MXL(Multiplexed Link)
interface. NBG440 have one MXL interface and the name is mx0 (fixed and can not be
changed by user). You can think them as logical interfaces which have the same features
with any other separated interfaces. If any separated interface joins a MXL interface, it
can not work as it was (e.g. "s0" can not work as "s0" if it joins mx0, instead, it works
as a member of mx0). Only Link-Multiplexing capable CPEs can be placed in an MXL
interface.
Note: Performance issue
A MXL interface containing 2 SHDSL ports set at 2320kbps each will be a theoretical
throughput of 4640kbps. The best performance can be obtained by making all the links
in the MXL interface to have the same link rate. If any link in the MXL interface has the
different link rate with others, you may have performance degradation.
Attention1: Port binding can be configured in 2-wire mode. You should verify status of device
using show device command.
Attention2: To configure multiplexed links using the MXL interface, you abide by the following
rule.
- All interfaces (including mx0) that you want to join (or not) to the MXL interface
should disabled.
When you create the MXL interface, add or delete a port, remove the MXL
interface, you should verify whether they are disabled. When you bind or unbind a
port, you will see the error messages such as “You should delete interface (s0)
first!” if they are enabled.
