New RS232 commands as of Version 1.91 (continued)
Command Syntax Parameters Description
Query group
source
GRS?<cr> none Ask the C6 what source the group is set
to. If there is a group, it will report back
what source it is set to. If there is no
group, it will report what source will be
set if you create a group using RS232
group commands. Note: this is not the
source that will be used if a group is
created via keypad, as the group will then
use the keypads source setting.
Query group
volume
GRV?<cr> none Ask the C6 what the volume setting
would be if a group were to be created via
RS232 group commands. Note: this is not
the volume that will be used if a group is
created via keypad, as the group will then
use the keypads volume setting.
Add zone to
a group
GRP+xx
<cr>
xx=zone number,
range 01-18
Add a zone to an existing group. The
zone will be turned on, Its source will be
set to the same as the other zones in the
group, and its volume will be set to the
value set by the GRV command.
Delete a zone
from group
GRP-xx
<cr>
xx=zone number,
range 01-18
Remove a zone from the group. The
zones status will not change.
Further explanation of the GRPxxyyzz command
The three values xx, yy, and zz in the command refer to the C6 (zones 1-6), the X-1(zones 7-12), and the
X-2(zones 13-18) chassis respectively.
xx byte:
zone 1 2 3 4 5 6
weight 1 2 4 8 16 32
To calculate the xx byte, add the weights together for the zones you want to be in the group.
Example: to add zones 2, 3, and 5 to a group, Add their weights 2+4+16 = 22. xx now equals 22.
yy byte:
zone 7 8 9 10 11 12
weight 1 2 4 8 16 32
To calculate the yy byte, add the weights together for the zones you want to be in the group.
Example: to add zones 7, 10, and 11 to a group, Add their weights 1+8+16 = 25. xx now equals 25.
zz byte:
zone 13 14 15 16 17 18
weight 1 2 4 8 16 32
To calculate the zz byte, add the weights together for the zones you want to be in the group.
Example: to add zones 15, 17, and 18 to a group, Add their weights 4+16+32 = . xx now equals 52.
Now that xx, yy, and zz are calculated, you can add all these zones to a group by issuing the RS232
command GRP222552. You could also create a group by using the GRP+xx command repeatedly, but it
takes a lot longer to setup a group that way.
