ADVANCED WIRING FOR EXTERNAL POWER AMPLIFIERS
The following section provides options for adding high power amplifiers in zone specific
applications. The basic application uses resistors on the left and right speaker level outputs to
create a stereo line level signal that can be fed into external amplifiers.
Applications 1&2 provide stereo line level output at the C-6 Controller from the Zone
Keypad/Speaker Output Terminal. Application 3 provides stereo line level in the remote zone
from the Keypad Speaker Level Output.
All Applications still provide zone control from the K-8 or K-22 Keypads and R-1 Remote.
Take extra precautions in checking all connections prior to powering up the system components
and turning on a zone using one of these applications. Severe damage can occur from improper
connections.

Application 1
This application allows using an external amplifier at the system head end utilizing the house
wiring and keypad input and output terminals. This application requires configuring the amplifier
output to adapt to the Phantom Control wiring scheme up to the zone keypad. The zone keypad
will output ‘normal’ speaker output. (L+,L-;R-,R+).
