Description The TCP/IP traceroute utility determines the route to a destination address. Aborting a
traceroute with the Ctrl-c could require issuing a second Ctrl-c before the prompt is returned.
The following is a sample configuration output.
A:ALA-1# traceroute 192.168.xx.xx4
traceroute to 192.168.xx.xx4, 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

Parameters ip-address | dns-name — Specifies the remote address to traceroute. The IP address or
the DNS name (if DNS name resolution is configured) can be specified.

ipv6-address x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x (eight 16-bit pieces)

x: [0 .. FFFF]H
d: [0 .. 255]D
ttl ttl — Specifies the maximum Time-To-Live (TTL) value to include in the traceroute
request, expressed as a decimal integer.
Values 1 to 255
wait milliseconds — Specifies the time in milliseconds to wait for a response to a probe,
expressed as a decimal integer.
Default 5000
Values 1 to 60000
no-dns — Keyword to specify not to perform a DNS lookup for the specified host.
Default DNS lookups are performed
source ip-address — Specifies the source IP address to use as the source of the probe
packets in dotted decimal notation. If the IP address is not one of the device
interfaces, an error is returned.
tos type-of-service — Specifies the type-of-service (TOS) bits in the IP header of the
probe packets, expressed as a decimal integer.
Values 0 to 255
router router-instance — Specifies the router name or service ID.
Values router-name: Base, management
service-id: 1 to 2147483647
