8.6.4.1 SMART4 SENSITIVITY AND NUISANCE IMMUNITY
The SDX-75CTEM (SMART4) detector provides 6 levels of sensitivity:
Level 1 – 3.28% meter of smoke or greater than 45 ppm of CO. No delays from processed photo
output.
Level 2 – 6.56%/ meter of smoke. No delays from processed photo output.
Level 4 – 9.84%/ meter of smoke. No delays from processed photo output.
Level 5 – 9.84%/ meter of smoke. Maximum of 10 minutes delay from processed photo output.
Level 8 – 13.12%/ meter of smoke. Maximum of 10 minutes delay from processed photo output.
Level 9 – Heat only alarm. If the heat level on either thermistor exceeds 60°C or rate of rise
limits.
Note: the delay counter starts when the smoke level exceeds approximately 2.46%/meter.
The panel threshold should be chosen according to the specific environment:
“ULTRA-CLEAN” environments can use Level 1 ALERT
“CLEAN” environments can use Levels 2-4 ALARM
“MODERATE” environments can use Level 5 ALARM
“HARSH” environments can use Level 8-9 ALARM
