Figure 124- Examples of Smart Alert conditions
Basic Application Example
You want a temperature sensor to activate one output relay when too hot, and another output relay when too cold. (This
configuration can be done with either an E-5D, E-16D, or a connected E-DI16DOR16). In the individual sensor configuration,
only one relay action can be created. Using Smart Alerts, multiple actions can be created from different events using the same
sensor.
Create 2 separate Events for the temperature sensor (sensor is plugged into port #1).
One event activated when temperature sensed is above 30˚C with auto acknowledge enabled.
A second event is activated when temperature sensed is below 20˚C with auto acknowledge enabled.
Create Smart alert #1 with Event #1 as an "Or" event, configured to auto acknowledge and activate output relay #1 (controlling
something that causes cooling) when in alarm.
Create Smart alert #2 with Event #2 as an "Or" event, configured to auto acknowledge and activate output relay #2 (controlling
something that causes heating) when in alarm.
No further Smart alert configuration is needed to create the desired action.
