7 Setup and Connection

Note
Risk of equipment damage due to incorrect connection
If you do not connect the Pentacam® AXL properly, and the connection is
live, the unit can be damaged within a short period of time.
 Do not use excessive force when connecting the electrical plug.
 Pay attention to the specifications on the nameplate.
If the electrical plug is damaged, contact our service department or an
authorized distributor to repair the damage.
 Firmly tighten the connection.
 Connect the Y-cable to the PC/laptop and the power adapter.
7.2 Switching On
Attention
Risk of incorrect measurements due to improper setup
 Before taking measurements, the Pentacam® AXL has to be switched
on, at least for one hour.
 The first step is to switch on the PC or laptop.
 Then turn on the Pentacam® AXL with the on/off switch (position
ON). The LED on the switch lights up green, fig. 7-1, page 19.
7.3 Switching Off
 Close the Pentacam® AXL program and close the Patient Data
Management.
 Shut down the Windows operating system.
 Turn the Pentacam® AXL off with the on/off switch (OFF position)
