18 Model 5380 PFPD Operator’s Manual
Rev. 3.1
The status bar, at the bottom of the screen, provides the following information:
Whether or not WinPulse is ready to record PFPD signal data
If a chromatographic run is in progress
The time since the start of the last run
If raw output data are being recorded
The size of the file in which data are being stored
The total available hard disk space
The boxes along the side and bottom of the WinPulse Main Screen provide the
following information or features.
Current Data Displays the PFPD’s current pulse frequency in Hz.
Reference 1 and 2 Allows the operator to set one or two chemiluminescence
signals as references by clicking on the Hold button. The
Reference 1 signal is blue and the Reference 2 signal is
green while the active signal is red. The PFPD pulse
Frequency when the reference signal was set is also
shown. The Clear button is used to eliminate a reference
signal from the screen.
Attenuation Adjust Adjusts the signal attenuation on the WinPulse Main
Screen. The setting is independent of the attenuation
values set in the Gate Parameters and Timed Events
screens. It does not affect the output signals sent to the
data integration device.
Marker Adjust Movable marker pairs are delineated by two green vertical
bars and two blue vertical bars. The position of the vertical
bars associated with each marker pair can be changed
either by dragging them left or right with the cursor or by
changing the values in the marker adjust boxes.
Note: These markers are independent of the gates set in
the Gate Parameters window and do not influ-
ence the output signals sent to the data integration
device. However, the vertical bars can be used to
visually determine the optimal gate settings that
can then be entered in the Gate Parameters
screen.
Data File Allows specification of the Directory and File Name to
Information store current raw output data. The Record button is used to
initiate and stop the data record. This feature allows data
segments to be stored at any time.
