6. Install the detector cap (Part #246900) on the top of the detector body. Adjust
the position of the detector cap until it is centered on the sealing washer and
the detector body.
7. Secure the detector cap with the detector cap screws (Part #295287C), alter-
nately tightening the two screws. A gap will exist between the detector body
and the detector cap (approximately 0.5 mm). This gap should be the same all
around.
8. If the ignitor assembly cable is not already attached to the detector cap, thread
it into the detector cap until it is snug. The ignitor coil should be centered in
the exit vent of the detector cap.
9. Replace all of the previously removed GC covers.
Installing the WinPulse Software
Before installing the WinPulse software, confirm that the minimum hardware and
software specifications required to run WinPulse exist in the PC on which
WinPulse is to be installed (see “Specifications” in Chapter 1). Begin installation
in the Windows environment, in the Program Manager window.
1. Insert the 3.5" WinPulse disk #1 into the appropriate disk drive.
2. Under the File menu (or Start menu in Windows 95), select Run.
3. Type a:\setup or b:\setup depending on which drive the WinPulse disk is in,
and press [Enter].
4. Follow the directions on the screen. (In the NAME and COMPANY input
window, move from the NAME box to the COMPANY box by pressing
[Tab]. Do not click on Next until after all the required information has been
entered).
5. For proper operation, it is important that the serial port in the computer be of
adequate speed. The minimum specification is a 16550 buffered UART, 38.4
K baud rate.
