USING THE FLASH
Set the flash mode by turning the jog dial while holding
down _,
• The flash mode changes as follows and the seIected mode is displayed
on the control panel (if all modes are available):
No indication(Auto-flash)<---> @ (Red-eyereductionflash) <---> _ (Filkinflash)
(_) (Flash off) <---> _ SLOW or '(_ SLOW (stow synchronization)
2 Press the shutter button halfway.
• When the flash is ready to fire, the orange lamp +ights steady
3 Press the shutter button fully.
TIPS ................................
Flash working range
W (max):Approx. 0.8 m - 5.6 m (26 ft - 18 ft.)
T (max) :Approx. 0.2 m - 3.8 m (07 ft - 12 ft)
Auto-flash (No indication)
The flash fires automatically in low light or backlight conditions.
Red-eye reduction flash (<_>)
The red-eye reduction flash mode reduces this phenomenon by emitting pre-
flashes before firing the regu+ar flash
Fill-in flash ( _ )
The flash always fires every time the shutter button is re+eased.
Flash off (_)
The flash does not fire even in low light conditions.
Slow synchronization _ SLOW1 ,_ SLOW2 <_> _,SLOW
1st curtain (front curtain) _ SLOW1 (factory default setting):
Adjusts the flash for slow shutter speeds
2nd curtain (rear curtain) _ SLOW2:
In contrast to 1st curtain, 2nd curtain fires the flash just before the shutter
closes.
1st curtain with red-eye reduction @ _ SLOW:
Adjusts the flash for slow shutter speeds, and minimizes red-eye.
