Your OneTouch® Verio™IQ Meter allows you to attach
a Before meal or After meal tag to your current blood
glucose result.
• A Before meal blood glucose test is taken just before the
start of your meal.
• An After meal blood glucose test is typically taken one
to two hours after the start of your meal.
You can also change or add a tag to your most recent result
(Last Result) when reviewing it in the meter memory.
We suggest you talk to your healthcare professional to
see how meal tags may help you manage your diabetes.

Attaching tags to your
blood glucose results
NOTE: A Before meal tag is used to determine if a blood
glucose result should trigger a high pattern message
(see pages 64–71).
Use care when adding tags to your blood glucose results.
Incorrect tagging can cause the information displayed
in averages and high pattern messages to be inaccurate
and/or misinterpreted.
