z The airbag system s are triggered
depending on the severity of the
accident and the type of impa ct.
z Each airbag can b e triggered only once,
which is indicated by continuous
illumination of control indicator v. Once
triggered , an airbag must be replaced
without delay. Consult a workshop.
z The speeds, directions of movement and
deformation properties of the vehicles,
and the properties of the obstacle
concerned, determine the severity of the
accident and trig gering of the airb ags.
The de gree of damag e to y our v ehicle
and the resulting repair costs alone a re
not indicative that the criteria for
triggering of the airbags were met.
z Do not modify airbag system
components, since this would render the
vehicle unroadworthy.
z Applicable safety directives must always
be observed when disposing of the
vehicle. For this reason, disposal should
be done by an a uthorised recycling
compa ny.
z Persons weighing less than 35 kg should
only travel in a vehicle suitable for fitting
a c hild restraint system. The use of child
restraint systems in your vehicle is not
rec ommended.
z Do not place any heavy objects on the
pass enger’ s se at when the seat is
unoccupied, oth erwise the airbag for the
passenger’ s seat may be triggered
unnecessarily in the event of an
accident.
z To prevent m alfunctions in the seat
occupancy recognition system, do not
use protective covers or seat cushions on
the passenger’s seat.
Notes on lo ad ing the vehicle
z Secure heavy objects in the luggage
compartment. If objec ts are to be
stack ed, the h ea vier o bje cts sho uld be
placed at the bottom. Unsecured objects
in the luggage compa rtm ent would be
thrown forward with great force in the
event of heavy braking, for example.
z If heavy loads slip when the vehicle is
braked heavily or driven a round a bend ,
the handling of the vehicle may change.
z The warning triangle 3 and first-aid kit
(cushion) 3 should alwa ys be freely
accessible.
