Slide the ller into the vacant slot until the front of the ller is ush with the front of the server.
Close the latch and rotate the release lever to lock the latch.

HowTo Remove a Removable Hard Drive Assembly
Caution – Thermal over-temperature potential. Do not operate the server without all drive slots
populated with either a drive or a ller panel.
Power o the server. See “How to Power O the Server”on page 28.
Note – If you are using an integrated-mirroring (IM) conguration, you do not need to power o
the server before removing a hard drive.
On the drive you want to remove, push the release button to open the latch and extend the latch
to its fully-open position.
Note – The latch is not an ejector. Do not bend it too far to the right. Doing so may damage the
latch.
