How to Install the Hard Drive Backplane

Position the backplane board in the server chassis with the SATA connectors facing upward and
align the eight screw holes in the backplane with the threaded standos in the server chassis.
To secure the backplane to the server chassis, fully tighten the eight screws.
Connect the HD/SSD power cable and four SATA cables to the backplane.
Take care to route the cables properly.
Install all HD/SSDs. See
“How to Install a Removable Hard Drive Assembly”on page 51.
Install the air duct. See
“How to Install the Air Duct”on page 53.
Prepare the server for operation. See
“How to Prepare for Operation”on page 26.
