INTRODUCTION
■ OPERATION:
Wear safety glasses and gloves when
operating the grinder or while profiling the
wheel with the dressing stone. Everyday eye-
glasses do not have impact resistant lenses
and can not be used as an alternative to
approved safety glasses.
Wear proper apparel. Never wear loose
clothing, neckties, bracelets, rings or other
items that could come into contact or become
entangled with the grinding wheel. Wear
protective hair covering to contain long hair.
Work safely. Work in a stable, safe position.
Serious injury could occur if the grinding wheel
is damaged from inadvertent impact, or if the
cutting tool is unintentionally contacted.
Never attempt to stop the wheel with your
hands. There is risk of injury from contact
with the grinding wheel.
Do not remove, damage or disable any
safety device. Never work with a damaged,
poorly repaired, incorrectly fitted or modified
grinder.
Use grinder only for sharpening saw chain.
Never use the grinder to cut or grind objects
other than saw chain that is secured in the
chain clamping vise.
Remove adjusting keys and wrenches.
Make certain keys and adjusting wrenches
are removed before turning the grinder to
the “on” position.
■ GRINDER INSTALLATION:
Secure the grinder to bench or wall. Make
sure that the grinder is secured as shown in
Figure 1, Page 7 or Figure 2, Page 8.
Use proper extension cord. Make sure any
extension cord used for your grinder is in good
condition and is heavy enough to carry the
current you will need to perform the grinding
operation. See Table 1, Page 10 for required
extension cord size. If in doubt, use the next
heavier cord (the next smaller gauge is the
heavier cord).

from high speed ejection of particles or from electrical shock. Read
and follow all instructions in this manual. Do not use accessories or
attachments not recommended for this tool. Do not use this tool
if the wheel guard is broken or missing.
