2.2.8 Attaching a Ferrite Core
A ferrite core must be attached when:
• connecting IP-GW16 and IP-EXT16 cards using an RJ45 connector, or
• connecting extension cards using an Amphenol connector.
The ferrite core is included with the card.
When connecting an IP-GW16/IP-EXT16 card
Wrap the cable once around the ferrite core, then close the case of the ferrite core. Attach the ferrite core 5
cm (1-15/16 in) away from the connector.
When connecting an extension card
Pass the cable through the ferrite core, then close the case of the ferrite core. Attach the ferrite core 3 cm
(1-3/16 in) away from the connector.
