Problem Cause/solution
I have changed the display
language to a language I cannot
read.
L Change the display language (page 12).
While programming, the unit starts
to ring.
L A call is being received. Answer the call and start again after
hanging up.
While programming, the display
returns to standby mode.
L A call matching an entry in the call barred list is being received.
Wait and try again later.
I cannot register a handset to a
base unit.
L The maximum number of handsets (6) is already registered to
the base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the
base unit (page 26).
L You entered the wrong PIN. If you forget your PIN, see “I cannot
remember the PIN.” (page 42).
L Place the handset and the base unit away from other electrical
appliances.
I cannot remember the PIN. L Change the PIN using the following method.
Handset:
1 8 (middle soft key)

5 Enter the new 4-digit base unit PIN. i M i {ih}
Problem Cause/solution
The handset beeps and/or )
flashes.
L Battery charge is low. Fully charge the batteries (page 8).
I fully charged the batteries, but )
still flashes.
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 9).
L It is time to replace the batteries (page 8).
I fully charged the batteries, but
the operating time seems to be
shorter.
L Clean the battery ends (S, T) and the charge contacts with a
dry cloth and charge again.
The handset display is blank. L The handset is not turned on. Turn the power on (page 12).
Problem Cause/solution
w is flashing. L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
L The base unit’s AC adaptor is not properly connected.
Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit.
L You are using the base unit or handset in an area with high
electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the
handset away from sources of interference.
L The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it (page
25).
