Unfortunately Silkpix® isn’t very well received by users. It isn’t as easy to
use as Lightroom. I guess you could say that it is more of a scientific tool
– a software laboratory tool!
In my personal experience, using this program also to process my JPEG
images for noise reduction and sharpening is a real bonus; after all I
didn’t have to spend an additional amount of money in order to process
the RAW files. I can do other post processing in my existing Photoshop
Elements package which doesn’t support this CR2 file.
Comparison of RAW versus JPEG Images
The case for, or against, the use of RAW files is probably best illustrated
by use of two example images. The one being a in camera JPEG file in
standard photo style and the other a Silkypix® processed image. Images
