• Recording technique
• We recommend using a tripod and the
self-timer for taking pictures.
•
In
[NIGHT PORTRAIT], we recommend
rotating the zoom lever to W (Wide)
and being about 1.5 m (4.92 feet) from
the subject when taking a picture. Keep
the subject still for about 1 second after
taking the picture.

is:

• The shutter may remain closed (max.

because of signal processing. This is not
a malfunction.
• Noise may become noticeable when
taking pictures in dark places.

becomes as follows:
Max. 8 seconds:
- When optical image stabilizer is [OFF]
- When optical image stabilizer is
[MODE1] or [MODE2] and the camera
determines that there is little jitter
Max. 1/8 second:
- Other cases than the case listed above.
• [CREATIVE NIGHT SCENERY] is
selected, [SENSITIVITY] is fixed to
[IS0100].
• When [NIGHT PORTRAIT] is selected,
the initial setting for [AF MODE] is [
