Machine actions Causes Solutions
No co ee is brewed, co ee is
brewed slowly or drop by drop
(see note).
The co ee grind is too ne. Change co ee blend or adjust grind-
ing as explained in the “Adjusting the
Ceramic Co ee Grinder” chapter.
The circuit is not primed. Prime the circuit (see the "Using the
Machine for the First Time" chapter).
The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (see the "Weekly
Cleaning of the Brew Group" chapter).
The dispensing spout is dirty. Clean the dispensing spout and its
holes.
The machine circuit is clogged by
limescale.
Descale the machine.
Co ee leaks out of the dispens-
ing spout.
The dispensing spout is clogged. Clean the dispensing spout and its
holes.
No hot water is dispensed. The circuit is not primed. Prime the circuit (see the “Using the
Machine for the First Time” chapter).
The machine circuit is clogged by
limescale.
Descale the machine.
Frothed milk is too cold. The cups are cold. Preheat the cups with hot water.
The milk is not frothed.
The milk does not come out.
The milk carafe is dirty or not
inserted correctly.
Clean the carafe and insert it correctly.
The milk carafe dispenser has not
been removed correctly.
Check that the milk dispensing spout
has been removed correctly.
The milk carafe is not fully
assembled.
Make sure that all components have
been correctly assembled.
The type of milk used is not suitable
for frothing.
Use the type of milk suggested in the
"Milk Carafe" chapter.
The descaling cycle cannot
be completed.
The water dispensed for the rinse
cycle is not enough.
Press the on/o button and follow
the instructions described in the
“Interruption of the Descaling Cycle”
section.
The selected product was not
saved.
You exited the setting of the product
via the “
” icon.
You need to con rm and save the de-
sired product quantity via the “
” icon.
Note:
These problems can be considered normal if the co ee blend has been
changed or if the machine has just been installed. In this case, wait until
the machine performs a self-adjusting operation as described in the "Saeco
Adapting System" chapter.
