1.4.1.2 Option B: Recording via an EM-181/SK connected to the Station Bus
This feature is available in the following firmware versions:
EM-181/SK and SL - 2.0.2310.4 or greater
EM-181Mu - 2.0.2238.4 or greater
Firmware upgrades can be performed via an SD card at the EM-181Mu - please refer to Firmware
Updates via an SD Card for further details.
1. Ensure the microphone level on the EM-181/SK is set to HIGH.
2. Hold down the button and plug the Station Bus into the EM-181/SK. Continue holding the
button down until the unit emits a single audible tone and both the and
buttons illuminate.
3. To record a new message, press the button, you will hear 4 audible beeps. The
button will illuminate, ready to begin recording your new voice message.
Note: When recording ensure you speak 4 inches away from the microphone.
4. To stop recording, press the button.
5. To playback your recording, press the button.
6. To return the EM-181/SK to normal operation, remove and re-insert the Station Bus terminal
to perform a power cycle.
1.5 Lift CAR Alarm Button Debounce Time
The lift CAR station can be programmed with a different alarm button debounce time.

To playback these settings, enter the following sequence:
The unit will respond with the debounce time set for all stations, according to their programmed
position - e.g. 0 0 X 0 0 0 0 0 3, where ‘X’ is the alarm button time programmed for CAR.
