1.3.4 Programming for HOTLINE Operation
A HOTLINE is a telephone line which will automatically dial a single predetermined number when the
phone goes off-hook. This feature is provided by the telecom service provider or wireless gateway.
When connecting to a HOTLINE, disable the unit from dialling a help number by entering the following:
NOTE: when connected to a Pixel EM-4GEx gateway configured in HOTLINE mode, the EM-181
Continuous Tone Detection must be disabled to take advantage of this feature see Advanced System
Settings.
1.4 Voice Identification Message
A built-in voice message plays upon answering an emergency call providing an aid to those with
communication difficulties by identifying the emergency calling location. A maximum voice recording
length of 16 seconds is available.
1.4.1 Recording the Voice Identification Message
There are multiple ways of recording the voice identification message.
1.4.1.1 Option A: Dialling into the system via your mobile handset
1. When dialling into the system, ensure you are not in close proximity of any connected stations
and in a quiet location. If your call is automatically routed to the last station that made an
alarm call, press the following to return to the master controller.

Please Note: DTMF tones can be subject to distortion or timing irregularities over the cellular network,
if you are having difficulty programming your voice message from a remote handset you can proceed
with Option B on the next page.
