10. Insert Cam Intake Tool (PA-51430) onto Cam Intake
gear. Secure Cam Intake Tool using a ratchet.
Torque intake camshaft sprocket bolt to specification.
TORQUE
Intake & Exhaust Camshaft Sprocket Bolt:
14 ft-lbs (19 Nm)
11. Remove the (PA-51430) from the intake gear and
(PA-51423) from the cam carrier.
12. Obtain the cam chain tensioner assembly.
13. Remove the screw
d
from the end of the barrel.
Extract the spring
a
and inspect the O-ring
s
.
Replace O-ring if damaged.
14. Push the detent
o
down and push the ram
i
into
the housing.
15. Install the cam chain tensioner
y
with a new gasket
u
into the cylinder and torque screws
f
to
specification.
TORQUE
Camshaft Chain Tensioner Screws:
6 ft-lbs (8 Nm)
16. Install the spring
a
and screw
d
into the barrel.
Torque screw to specification.
17. Rotate crankshaft through two revolutions and verify
camshaft timing is correct.
TORQUE
Camshaft Chain Tensioner Spring Screws:
6 ft-lbs (8 Nm)
