Leaving
Your
Vehicle
If you are leaving the vehicle, take your key, open your
door and set the locks from the inside. Then get out
and close the door.
LiftgatelTailgate
It can be dangerous to drive with the
liftgate/tailgate open because carbon monoxide
(CO) gas can come into your vehicie. You can’t
see or smell CO. It can cause
unconsciousness and even death.
If
you must
drive with the liftgate/tailgate open or

must pass through the seal between the body
and the liftgatehailgate:
Make sure all other windows are shut.
Turn the fan on your heating
or
cooling
system to its highest speed with the
control setting on that will force outside
air into your vehicle. See “Comfort
Controls.”
